Also, it would appear ‘Saw is up to something.

    But still: VELED!?!?!?!?!?

Vled promised that she’d get her and Daisy out of the show alive if she behaved. Gabriel is probably part of that plot. now that whole please ignore me mantra i’m thinking jigsaw is subconsciously using her soul power to render herself tech invisible like Mr. Terrific. that or she’s hearing the thought of the person watching the camera.

    Facebook annotations, yeah that’s Alice…

    But again: VELED!???!!?!

Okay, initially I thought “Dammit! (etc)” was Alice, but I think e_voyager has it right, it’s Gabriel – mainly because the color coding seems to be his…And I want to know if that hand print is supposed to be bloody or just one of kids screwing around. And, yeah, ‘Saw is using the Jedi Mind Trick (notice that she’s visible on monitor 2, but the guy watching doesn’t see her.

I’d settle for knowing exactly *what* the hell is going on, personally!

Rippy: But the guy isn’t LOOKING for Jigsaw. He’s looking for Alice. Now if the guy sees TWO Jigsaws on screen, THEN he’ll know something is up.

i can’t say i like the look of the bloody hand print but it seems to me Jigsaw is looking for something or some one , Alice is look for help after bein attacked. Garbelrs is watching them both on the camera but since h can’t seem to keep track of jigsaw is hoping Alice will lead him too her. as for the Veled comment maybe he’s trying to reach Veled on the net. they could be co-conspirators trying to find out just what jigsaw is capable of and keeping veled’s word as long as jigsaw keeps hers. for the look of the kids we’ve seen on his ship most are Celeste, touched or light children.

It looks to me like ‘Saw isn’t in this strip at all. I’m pretty sure that we’re seeing is Alice ducking out of camera view to disguise herself as Jigsaw.

Carazy! I’d never thought of Gabriel and Veled being in cahoots. They both sure dislike like the Star Org… 😮

But what does that last line mean? What’s Alice’s tie to Gabriel?

And since colored speech bubbles and boxes are related to eye color, does this mean that Gabriel does indeed have a second set of eyes? Maybe like Peloton’s? 😯

This page reminds me of The Vampire of Veldin fanfiction. A lot of twist and turns in that and it appears this chapter of the comic is no different from that wonderful fanfiction.

It looks like Jigsaw is sending out psychic suggestions of getting others to ignore her. But who is she trying to hide from and how effective would it be in this situation?

if you look in the second window jigsaw appears briefly in one camera window but then again with Alice’s djinn abilities that could just be Alice pretending to be jigsaw. we’ve seen her shape shift into another human so why not a talmi? looking at the last panel i notice a lack of vampire fangs in jigsaws mouth but that could simply mean that her mask has only slipped enough to revile her eyes but not her fangs.

any possibility of this leading to having a ‘ive never been with twins before’ moment later?

Okay…so…like, to summarize, we know absolutely nothing for certain. Okay, let the Wild Mass Guessing continue 🙂

The more I look at this…the more I think e_voyager has it right, given ‘Jigsaw’s’ eyes in the last panel. She hurriedly tried to disguise herself as something less noticible, and Jig was the first ‘template’ that came to mind that was sufficient for her to shift to (Daisy would stand out too much, but there are other Talmi on the ship).

Though something does suddenly come to mind. People are assuming that the mention of Veled means the two are working together. But what about this idea–Gabriel had a hold of Veled in the past and she *escaped* him–and Gabriel’s flashing back to that here?

oohh creepy and original i like it. but keep in mind that Veled has help her planet tougher for about 40 years ore more so that it wouldn’t destroy itself (quite possibly in a civil war). that said consider how old would Gabriel have to me to have caught her when she was young and inexperienced enough to be cough and held?

    @The_Rippy_One: Yeehaw! 😛

@Vulpis: That’d be a very interesting slip of the tongue for Gabriel, then. But why not? A group of what are effectively superheroes are bound to have some old villains kicking around. 🙂

@e_voyager: Whatever his age is probably wouldn’t be too unreasonable, especially if people are supposed to live until they’re 150. Appearances may be deceiving in the future, but Gabriel doesn’t look that old…

I probably would have used Daisy as an example but i see what you mean Daisy is 51 one and looks like she’s thirty. wait didn’t we have this conversation before?

@e_voyager: At least once, with me, but yeah. Good looking quintagenarian. And who knows what the life span for Gabe is. For all we know, Veled’s competence at preventing her civil war, and her assumed antipathy to Star Org, might have been the results of a stay with Gabe during her formative years (or, bluntly, Gabe was the Sensei whom she has now surpassed). Gabe may not be the villain, but the original puppet-master for the good side. “Good” side? “Less dark” side? Terrorist abolitionists?

@The_Rippy_One: It’s actually a fairly interesting idea to consider Gabe as the former teacher of Veled.

Though that also might explain why Star org is after Gabe even more. Chances are that the feelings for star org Veled has might be shared by certain star org people for Veled herself. If so, then actions like what Melody took might be more common between Veled and friends against star org plans and star org against Veled.

I’m beggening to wonder again if Qin really was the victim of tough love from Veled. If star org could weasel any dirt on a friend of Veled would they hesitate to use it or capture it?

@The_Rippy_One: That’s a cool angle too! Gabriel probably would have had to conceal his beliefs, since the Endless wouldn’t want a dissenter holding the ear of their Messiah. All in all, though, I believe that Veled’s antipathy for the Star Org has much stronger roots than Gabriel’s tutelage. 🙁

@Josh.C: Are you suggesting that the Star Org captured Qin, rather then Veled “apprehending” him after an attempt on her life? His mug shot sure looks like Veled’s handiwork… 😉

Hmm. I was thinking Veled was once in Gabriel’s clutches, escaped, and *she* was who ‘hired’ the LR to go *arrest* him.

Hmmm. To respond to an older comment from e_voyager…I think that ‘bloody handprint’ is probably the same one you keep seeing all over Areal stuff–thought I would like to know the story of why Slick says *his* family is the reason that logo is there…

@Josh.C: “Veled and friends against star org plans and star org against Veled”

So, wait, I hadn’t thought that far ahead…Do you suppose that Star Org is so dysfunctional because the upper management is secretly at war with itself, with a minority of the leadership trying surreptitiously to kill the organization, and those aware of that fact fighting to keep it on life support?

@Sulucamas Kinda hard to forget an Epic Grandstand Speech (With Obligatory Title Drop) like that. 🙂 As far as the cracked table..no clue, there.

@Jigsaw Ah, thanks for mentioning that. For some reason I hadn’t paid attention to the top banner (instead immediately scrolling to the comic and comments below it), and keep wondering why there’s such a delay between updates. I’ll have to remember this is a weekly, and be patient accordingly. 🙂

@The_Rippy_One: Could be, but I doubt a cult/government would allow dissenters into their leadership. They probably wouldn’t have persisted for so long if they were easy to infiltrate. I assumed they were so dysfunctional because they recruit from the bottom of the barrel. 😕

    @Vulpis: Word. ^_^

@sulucamas Where there is a will there is a way. it happens all the time in elected governments and if the leader is charismatic enough then they can get to be a leader in a cult even if they hate everything the cult stands for.

@ sully- the idea here is that -most- of the recruits are from the bottom of the barrel. this means anyone competent rises like a cork in a sewer. someone legitimately bright enough to play dumb could get in control of some serious numbers of armed patsies while having all the benefits of being completely legitimate and drawing a non-supervillan paycheck

@e_voyager and Brunhidden: You’re both right, of course. I guess whenever I hear “cult” I just think “hardcore brainwashing,” such that one would be hard-pressed to fake it. And unless the infiltrator is content to be a good parasite and not cause too much trouble, I would think the higher-ups would take notice and initiate some violent housecleaning. Like Rippy said, “surreptitious” would be the key word there.

This all really just makes me more curious about the true nature of the Star Org. Are they lockstep in their obedience to the Endless? Are they so riddled with corruption that the competing interests cancel each-other out and it continues functioning? Are there earnest reformers trying to use the Org for good as the peace-keeping force it brands itself as? Right now they’re one of the baddies, but I’d love to know just how bad they really are. 🙂

@Sulucamas I’m pretty sure that they are at least bad enough to save the president…

Oh, grief, sorry, had to. Though, the idea that they are an organization that would collectively eat burgers off the ground for health purposes…yeah, that sounds about right.
