Merry Giftmas! Secret Santa Art Abounds!

by Raye Keslensky on December 25, 2013 at 3:42 pm

Hey, just because I don’t do holiday copout comics doesn’t mean I didn’t do anything for the season!

A few of the webcomic folks got together to draw art for each other, and I got in on the fun as well. I ended up with The Echo Chronicles, and decided to draw Rose Shinrin…

Rose Shinrin from The Echo Chronicles

While Vas Littlecrow of Rasputin Barxotka picked up Last Res0rt instead. BASK! Bask in the fanart!

Jigsaw, as drawn by Vas Littlecrow

We’ll return to your non-denomenational cha0s soon, but for now… get off the digital device and go hang out with someone you love!

Happy holidays!

Redefining Midnight Updates

by Raye Keslensky on December 11, 2013 at 5:26 pm

You didn’t know “midnight” was a variable, did you?

I’ve recently relocated, so some of you may have already figured this out — but I’ve set the time zone back on the blog so that updates occur at Midnight Pacific (3AM Eastern), as opposed to Midnight Eastern time. There’s a few reasons for this, but namely? I’ve been in a couple situations where having the extra three hours makes a heap of difference right now.

Same schedule as before, with weekly updates on Sunday — just a little time-shifted. Keep calm, the comments box will be just as fresh in the morning. 🙂

This Year’s Holiday Ornament IS HERE!

Last Res0rt's 2013 Ornament, featuring Team Gemini!Who needs Black Friday?

The long-awaited 2013 Holiday ornament is here! I say ‘long-awaited’ because Gemini is the last team to be illustrated, which means we now have a complete set of the executioners!

… Wait, I’m missing one, aren’t I? Ah well.

These ornaments are simple, ceramic, round ornaments that won’t weigh down your tree, and they look quite nice (like they always do!)

In case you have other executioners in mind, here’s the other teams on previous year’s ornaments:

  • Team Corvus (Jason and Alice) are on the 2012 Ornament!
  • Team Equuleus (Silk and Qin) are on the 2011 Ornament!
  • and Team Andromeda (Jigsaw and Daisy) are on the 2010 Ornament that started it all!

Remember, you can’t get this through the usual storefront: these ornaments are only available on Zazzle! It also means it’ll be subject to all sorts of lovely Zazzle sales throughout the month as well!

Leave the whole “getting trampled in front of a Wal-Mart” business to someone else! Get your ornament today!

Last Res0rt is at Table 19 in Artist's Alley at Dragon Con!

Hey, they even put me back in the same spot!

If you saw me last year at Dragon Con, you’ll know exactly where I am this Labor Day weekend! I’ll be at Table 19 in Artist’s Alley, and I’ll have plenty to talk about — including some first edition books that won’t be printed again (And the printing of future books depends on how well the Kickstarter turns out)!

See you there!

New Interview at MuseHack!

by Raye Keslensky on August 26, 2013 at 7:32 pm

Steven Savage from MuseHack (a blog about geeks, business, and everything in between) was sweet enough to ask me a few questions about putting together the comic and the kickstarter — and the answers are worth a read, because unlike the usual set of questions about cartooning, Steven and I talked about both aspects of the work I do — not just my comics, but how it fits into the rest of my professional work.

If you’re looking for more discussion about how I manage to do the things I do and some of my hopes about the kickstarter (the interview was done before the kickstarter launched, which is now at 35%), you should read it!
