My advice: Never trust the translation of a prophecy. Stick with the original where you can feel all the puns, double meaning, symbolism and other linguistic tricks that make prophecy so hard to understand.

Well, nikolai, that’s the point, there SHOULDN’T be any non-human vampires…that fullfills the ‘dead inside where none should be’ because she shouldn’t be a vampire

If Veled can really make that guarantee, then the contest actually IS fixed, or she has some way to pull them out deceptively.

@elemental: It’s not that hard. People translated song and poem in the past. The result is rarely as good of the original but you have more luck if you language hold a lot of synonym and the translator is good and have a lot of time for doing it.

I’m interested to see how Daisy and Jigsaw will go free, and I’m also curious to know if Valed knows about the telepathy. I’m also curious to know what the rules for Vampires are in Last Res0rt. Obviously sunlight doesn’t seem to be an issue. How does one become a vamp? Is there a set number of bites, or is it a total amount of blood loss in a single sitting that determines if a person changes or suffers Real Permanent Death? Also wondering what determines if a person who, for example, has their brains blown out, comes back as a zombie or stays dead? Is being Touched a factor in any of this?

Some Vampire lore has it that the vampire drinks the blood of the victim, then the victim drinks the blood of the vampire. Or the vampire injects a bit of his blood through his fangs.

Again, I’m confused. I get that an ‘embrace’ is something invovled with becoming a Vamp, but how does it work? Who are the ‘otherworlders’?
