Celeste are valued for having over souls (not the shaman king kind) and the powers that those over souls give them. some with with a touch more soul the normal or a touch less is a light child. i’m not sure were touched fit into the picture but they are the ones who were born more or less as proto-Celeste. they didn’t awaken to the full Celeste form. the differences between a Celeste a touched and a light child is in the soul pieces and the wings.

Hmm. Aren’t the Celeste people with “extra” soul? So that would mean that Jig’s new friend is just a celeste who wasn’t created by interbreeding species.

@blance remember that the endless arrived after the war when the Celeste were retreating form the war with the earths large number of dead inside(my guess the number was over 3 billion) that was some time after 2012 roughly two thousand years before the current time

“Older than the Endless”. That means she presumably dates to before human involvement in interstellar affairs, which–if I understand correctly–has all sorts of implications. She would remember when the Talmi were enslaved by the Celeste, and a time before the Celeste first encountered (and got their teeth kicked in by) vampires. I wonder what she’d make of a Talmi vamp?

Her “purebred” nature, given her predominantly Talmi appearance, leads me to speculate that Celeste can arise spontaneously from different species.

Very cool. Those markings are similar to the ones that Sedja and Murphy (and Jason!) have…maybe a Purebred Celeste is a step above a regular Celeste, an Efreet equivalent. Perhaps it’s a purity of soul shell, something that’s been inherited and preserved for a loooong time.

I did not think the words Purebred and Celeste ever went together. wow.

we know that Celeste live longer then most spices. but in this case we’re talking Qin Xu age and that’s utter impressive.

why do i get the feeling that that one word we saw (mind) spoken held a paragraph worth of information for jigsaw?
