I rescind my previous statements regarding the current line of speculation. An archive binge lead me to the story of how the Celeste and Djinn allied to drive off the Otherworlders. And that, of the former party, there were only nine survivors in the entire species. So… Yeah. No metaphor here, evil alien overlords coming to town to roflstomp everyone.

@ Super: So… The otherworlders are aliens, specifically nonhumans. Makes sense, given the previous exclusivity of vampires. Perhaps whoever wrote the prophecy was basically saying: “Aliens are going to rise up and wipe out all the theocrats once they figure out that vampirism is universally available.

Aha, I get it now. Talk of an apocalypse if Jigsaw’s condition is made public isn’t a matter of hokey prophecy. It’s that now a lot of people see a way for immortality without going through the Endless, upsetting the power balance at hand.

Also vampires everywhere, which would be awkward.
