The Artist Editions for Volume One include a set of four photo-sized prints, instead of the poster that I included with the books at the conventions.  (Mostly because the shipping costs to offer it the other way around go up way too much to expect anyone to pay for that.) This 30-page “beta” version of the game is enough to get you going — but the funny thing about games (especially RPGs) is that the games people make are never quite the same ones people want to play…  so in order to make sure the 1st (printed) edition of the game is the best it can be, that means I need as many pairs of eyes as possible giving the game a chance and figuring out where I can make improvements in future iterations.

This time it’s from ACTFUR, the Furry Radio Podcast; LR’s been reviewed as part of an “Extreme Edition” of the show! If you’re impatient, skip ahead to about the 58-minute mark, where the segment is.

This year, it’s actually something good.

Long-time visitors (and a few folks who’ve seen these in action on my computer IRL) have known I’ve been sitting on these for a while in the hopes I could actually turn out something awesome with ‘em… and sitting… and sitting…

Well, I’m sick of sitting!

Available with any $5 or more Donation are two animated mascot skins of Jigsaw Forte (each with their own outfit), available for use with the MaCoPiX (Mascot Constructive Pilot for X) system. Each mascot has its own set of animations (to blink, emote, or pull out objects from behind their back), can sit on top of your windows or on your taskbar, and react when you click on them.

MaCoPiX uses the X window system, which means most modern Operating Systems (Windows, Mac, AND Linux!) are covered.

So, where’s the “Ha ha, April Fools!” joke?

… The software’s open source, hasn’t been updated in two years, and most of it’s still in its native Japanese.

It DOES work, though. It just won’t hold your hand while it does it.

If you’re skeptical, go ahead and install MaCoPiX for free, see if you can get it working, and then go ahead and donate to get the mascots.

Remember me going on about Volume One coming out soon? Well, it’s here. The first copies of Last Res0rt – First Against The Wall are in my hands, and… well, most webcomics would be willing to do a preorder and risk coming up short on funds, but this was what the cameo drive was meant to prevent. At the same time, there’s been a lot of energy into making sure the books came in time for the spring conventions… and it does nobody any good to not have books on hand because they already sold out online first.

So… we’re doing a rolling launch.

• We’ll be having the books available only to convention-goers for the first couple of weeks, first at MomoCon (March 20-21), and then Furry Weekend Atlanta (March 26-28) the next weekend.
• After Furry Weekend Atlanta, we’ll open up sales of the books online, to the public.
• If for whatever reason we run out of books to sell, we’ll take orders at the conventions as well (same as we do for commissions) and deal with it from there.

Despite all forces conspiring against us, we’ve made it into the MomoCon Artist’s Alley in the Piedmont Room (marked on this nifty and unnecessarily 3D map). Unfortunately we can’t provide much better in the way of directions, but you shouldn’t have a hard time finding us once you make it to the room.

Bug Pudding is another webcomic in the family, and and since a certain someone saw a similar cake done for Coby Cur and had a birthday coming up, I decided to whip up a cake for him as well (with some help from one of my cake-making friends).
