Between ‘Saw and Veled it seems thing’s could be handled nicely, I don’t trust papa Archanis at the moment anyways. Even so, I have to agree with him, ‘Saw is probably their best choice for diplomat considering what we’ve seen, ‘specially since she can handle herself should things get to ‘aggressive negotiations’.

  2. e_voyager

What i picture going through jigsaws mind “i’m sorry did some one mistake me for wonder woman? “

  3. Josh.C

Wait??? *Thinks of the villain from lethal weapon that kept saying diplomatic immunity and picturing Jigsaw like that*

Could Jigsaw actually pull that off? Somehow I don’t know if Veled is being serious or she just like tugging on her little punch lines chain with her comment there.

  4. Shad

He won’t stick his neck out to help his daughter. Shoulda seen that coming.

  5. The_Rippy_One

What is it about Talmi scouts that gets them nominated to be the diplomats. It’s a curse, I tell you…

Strictly speaking, I’m sort of disappointed in Mr. Archanis, but I can’t actually fault his desire for self-preservation.

I’m not sure I trust Veled with Rei. Or, rather, her organization. Also, curious about what form that debrief took. Did ‘Saw actually tell them everything, or, only the pertinent bits? Given that one of the listener’s organizations locked up Rei, and the other will print anything to sell papers, I would have given the need to know, abridged version…

Papa Archanis is a less then helpful tool. And more than a little self centered it would seem.

  7. Josh.C

@LavaBat: I guess the topic of usefulness is a rather subjective term when it comes to the Archanis family.

A daughter nearly gets shot by trying to pull sympathy for her mother by playing her mother’s scout persona. A son helps out his father and his fathers wife get out of a defenestration and give their ship a tune up to try to get Jigsaw. Daisy took the fall to keep a few secrets. Now this.

  8. LavaBat

@Josh.C: They might like to keep secrets, but ‘Saw has Gabriele’s little black book of customers. ‘Saw has an incredible bargaining chip, and I am sure she will not hesitate to use it.

  9. e_voyager

@josh.C. wait are you saying those two talmi we saw were Daisy’s children?

  10. Josh.C

@e_voyager: Well the final mental statement by Jigsaw in this page does make those actions a little more credable as Daisy’s and Cypher children. http://www.lastres0rt.com/2008/05/hiding-secrets-from-a-mindreader-does-not-work/

  11. Kermit

I suspect Jigsaw’s angle in this is that they need a diplomat who can make sure that the kids don’t get reprocessed by the Star Org, which isn’t necessarily something that Veled can ensure.

  12. Sulucamas

How are things falling apart? General unrest, or lethal barnacles?? D:

@The_Rippy_One: What’s not to trust? Who do you think “delivered” Rei to Gabriel in the first place? 😮

@e_voyager: Josh.C’s spot on. Not to mention that their names match the ones on Daisy’s bio page. 🙂

  13. Vulpis

@shout The_Rippy_One Heh–that comment makes me wonder…what *is* the soverignty of Last Resort Station, anyway? And if it’s independant of a world, just what populations/conditions are required for there to be a Scout? I have this mental image image of Veled looking entirely wicked as she tells Jig that Jig is now Sailor Deathmatch, Scout of the Last Resort… 😉

  14. The_Rippy_One

@Sul: Are you honestly saying that someone delivering a being to Gabe ought to be considered a reason to trust said individual? *re-reads the last twenty pages* nuh-uh, not buying that. ;p 🙂

  15. xzeddx

Like the NO U part from Papa-San

  16. e_voyager

@josh.C. heh that sounds about right.
@sul. heh that reminds me of the question i asked about sterling and light children being able to interbreed for the game., it also lends credence to a could of my characters background bio’s
@vulpis . that would be a scary site. also remember Jigsaw was a scout before jut the lowest level of scout. kind of like a cadet

  17. Sulucamas

@Vulpis: The station’s in orbit around Celigo, and the show’s sponsored by the Celigan Ministry of Love, but maybe that doesn’t prevent them from making it its own micronation

*GASP* This needs to happen now! 😀

@The_Rippy_One: I dunno, Gabriel didn’t keep Rei bound in barbed wire. Seems like a step up. 😉

  18. Vulpis

@e_voyager Ah, right–I’d forgotten that the Scouts here were a cross between Girl and Sailor varieties (which *still* makes me wonder what about the guys? They folded in with the rest, since I haven’t really seen any signs of sexism in this setting, or is there a secretive ninja organization of Masks, who only ever show up when the solid waste *really* hits the rotary air-circulation device?)
